6th Grade Camp

6^th grade students will be attending a camp presentation in Mesa Verde’s gym at 9:00 am on February 8^th for Camp Cuyamaca! It is quickly approaching for us and is one of the most exciting opportunities for our 6^th graders. We are so lucky to have San Diego County Office of Ed’s Outdoor Education Project Specialist, Dustin Burns to make this presentation. He is very knowledgeable about all things camp related.

 

Parents are welcome to attend this presentation and must check in to the office before coming on campus to head over to the gym for this presentation. If you are/were unable to attend for any reason, they have offered us a camp video to share in case you or your child missed the presentation! Mesa Verde Middle School, August 2023

 

Dear Parents of the 6th grade students:

 

This year your child will have the opportunity to participate in the 6th grade outdoor education program at Camp Cuyamaca! All 6th grade classes will be going to camp from April 29th- May 3rd. The cost for the 5 day session will be $455.00. This includes transportation, food, lodging, and insurance. Full payment will be due March 1st. Please plan accordingly for this added expense.

 

We certainly would like to have all students participate; however, participation is not mandatory. Students who do not go to camp will be placed together in a 6th grade classroom at Mesa Verde for the week.

 

If you feel the cost of camp will present a financial hardship for your family, a limited number of partial camperships may be available in extreme cases. For further information regarding camperships, please email Secretary - Michelle Rinehart [email protected].

 

As we get closer to outdoor education dates in 2024, you can expect your child to be bringing home more information/forms regarding outdoor education.
